Hi from your WHS Cross Country Boosters.

We've had an exciting 2 weeks since our last update.  We had a very early wake-up call on Saturday morning October 25th for the Annual running of the United States Largest Cross Country Invitational Meet at Mt. San Antonio College.  Our athletes had a great meet and we have photos and results posted here on our website for you to enjoy.

Last Friday was the big meet up at Lake Casitas; the Annual Ventura County Championships!  Our athletes performed extremely well both as individuals and as teams.  We already have meet  photos and results posted so be sure to check them out.

This week we will have our regular practice schedule for Mon., Tues, and Wed. and then on Thursday we will be attending the Marmonte League Finals!  Be sure to plan on attending to cheer our athletes on to their best performances of the season!

Our November 18th Annual Awards Banquet is fast approaching.  Please remember to RSVP as soon as possible (if you haven't done so already).  Your RSVP should be returned to Brenda Alban (please do not attempt to return to the coaching staff) and please RSVP even if the athlete is attending without his/her family.  Having an accurate head count for our caterer is very important.  If you have not received your RSVP form, please call Brenda Alban at (805) 497-8855.

Thanks from your WHS Cross Country Boosters!
Have a great week,
Go Warriors and Keep Running.!

Hi once again from your WHS Cross Country Booster Club.

Our Carwash fundraiser was a huge success and the boosters, coaches, and athletes extend a sincere thank you to all the parent volunteers that helped during the day and that brought their cars to WHS  for a wash.

Our Warrior athletes had a very successful final League meet at Newbury Park last Thursday. Coach Burns has posted all of our athlete stats HERE and there are 174 new photos of the Newbury Park meet HERE

The Boosters have mailed out our End-Of-Year Awards Banquet RSVP forms to all team families.  Please remember to RSVP as soon as possible (and on or before Nov. 1st)  and please RSVP even if the athlete is attending without his/her family.  Having an accurate head count for our caterer is very important.  If you have not received your RSVP form, please call Brenda Alban at (805) 497-8855.

Next Saturday is the Famous Mt. SAC Invitational!  This is the grand-daddy of all cross country meets.  This is the United States largest cross country Invitational and something simply not to be missed.  There is lots of information on this years event HERE

Our coaches will be providing our athletes with additional Mt. SAC info at practice this week.  If any athlete needs to leave Mt. SAC early and not ride home with the team on the team bus, please remember to send an email  (by Wesnesday) to Ms. Funfar requesting that your child be allowed to use alternate transportation home from Mt. SAC.  Ms. Funfars email is: nfunfar@conejo.k12.ca.us

Thanks from your WHS Cross Country Boosters!

Hi once again from your WHS Cross Country Booster Club.

WHS had a very successful second League Meet at Moorpark last Thursday.  Coach Joey Snyder and Coach Burns have supplied us with 235 Brand New Meet Photos for your enjoyment.  You can view them HERE.

A very special Thank-You to all of the very special WHS Warrior Parents for donating desserts and volunteering their time at our Pasta Feed last Friday.  Our athletes and coaches deeply appreciate all of your efforts,  Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!! :)

Central Park was an amazing meet for our Warriors!  Here are the team results:

Many of our athletes took home individual medals.  Congratulations to all of our Warriors on a great Central Park Invitational. All of the Central Park results can be found HERE.  Coach Burns has supplied us with 155 Brand New Photos from Central Park and the Lunch at Knotts.  You can check out all the photos (including who sat on the chicken this year) by simply clicking HERE

Westlake will be hosting our second and Final Home Meet this Tuesday at Westlake High School against Calabasas.  Plan on joining our team at 3:00PM and cheering our athletes on to victory!

Team photos and individual athlete photos will be taken this Friday.  Individual photos will be taken at 2:00PM and the Annual Team Photo will be taken at 3:00PM.  Our coaching staff will be sending home additional information later this week.

Our Annual Car Wash Fundraiser will be held this Saturday in the North Facility parking lot at WHS.  Thanks for returning the proceeds from the ticket sales, and please return them ASAP if you haven’t done so yet.   We sure can use help from our athlete parents during this event, so if you can, please plan on helping out our team for an hour or so during this final team fundraiser of the season.  All of the proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to our End-of-Year Athlete Banquet expenses.

Thanks from your WHS Cross Country Boosters!

Hi once again from your WHS Cross Country Booster Club.

Westlake hosted a very exciting and successful league meet last Thursday and the coaches, athletes, and boosters wish to say thanks to all the great WHS parent volunteers that helped to make it a success.  There are 75 new photos of our first league meet available HERE and Coach Burns has already posted our athletes performance stats HERE.

I want to extend a special thanks to the Agoura HS parents who gave me one of their water bottles as we were waiting to enter the parking lot.  My youngest daughter who was volunteering and distributing water to the athletes during the meet commented that the Agoura athletes were very nice and had very good manners and said thanks for the additional water.

Speaking of water, it is important for our athletes to follow their coaches instructions on proper hydration.  Please help by encouraging our athletes to stay hydrated during the season. I was reading a few articles on athlete hydration this past week.  I found a good one HERE.  It is from  Victor Liberi , MS ATC STS who is the Instructor of Sports Medicine at the University of Southern Maine.

Since last Sunday there have been a bunch of new WOODBRIDGE PHOTOS (courtesy of Coach Joey Snyder) posted and they are available HERE.

Our second league meet will be this Thursday Oct. 2nd at Moorpark High School.  We hope you can join us to cheer for all of our Warrior athletes. Directions to Moorpark HS can be found HERE.  Click on the Moorpark HS link for the directions.

We will be having our third Pasta Feed this Friday October 3rd after practice in the WHS Cafeteria.  We are always looking for donations of deserts for our athletes.  If you'd like to help or donate a few treats, feel free to email me at: dgerlach@yahoo.com or Brenda at: b3dteacher@msn.com

The famous Central Park Invitational and our Annual Lunch at Knotts will be this Saturday October 4th.  This is an absolutely spectacular meet and definitely a favorite for many of our athletes.  The course is relatively flat with a loop bordering a small lake. At past Central Park meets, there was this booth selling the most amazing hot cinnamon rolls, you simply have to try one.  After the meet we are all invited to join the team at Knotts Berry Farm for lunch at the Famous Knotts Chicken Dinner Restaurant.  This is an extremely fun meet/team lunch and hopefully you will be able to help cheer for our athletes and join our team for all of these activities.  Photos of last years Central Park Invitational can be found HERE and HERE.  My personal favorite photo from all of last year was taken at Central Park and was in fact used by Coach Burns as the cover photo for last years team year book.  That photo can be found HERE.

Lastly, I want to remind you all of our Annual Car Wash Fundraiser that will be held at WHS on Saturday Oct. 11th from 10:00AM till 2:00PM  Please plan on joining us for some fun with the team! More info on our car wash can be found HERE.

Thanks, Your WHS Cross Country Boosters!

The Boosters, Coaches and Athletes wish to thank all of our Woodbridge Fundraiser supporters for a fantastic turnout.  We had nearly a 100% return rate on the Aloha Fundraiser event.  100% of our portion of the funds raised will be used to pay for athletes dinners at our Awards Banquet.

Hi once again from your WHS Cross Country Booster Club.

Please make sure that you turn in your Woodbridge Aloha Fundraiser stuff by Tuesday Sept. 16th. This is a very important fundraiser for our team and 100% of our portion of the money raised goes to our athletes.

Mt. SAC was incredible! If you weren’t able to make it, be sure to ask your athlete all about it.  Be sure to ask them about the switchbacks, poop-out hill, the start, and the finish chute.  There are Photos Posted and Video Posted so be sure to check them out.

While you are at it, ask your athlete to talk to you about their Race Prep Info and their Goal Cards that Coach Burns provides them.  If you get a chance read this info that was distributed to the athletes. It is really good stuff.

If you would like to help, we are looking for a parent that can put together our End-Of-Year-Video for our Banquet.  Contact the boosters if you would like to help.

We will be providing less soda and more water and Gatorade-type sports drinks for our athletes at our Pasta Feeds.  If you are wondering what exactly are sports drinks, energy drinks, recovery drinks, fitness water, etc. and how do our athletes benefit from them check out: THIS ARTICLE ON SPORTS DRINKS

We are always looking for donations of fresh oranges and/or bananas for our deserving athletes at our meets.  The Booster club brought 12 lbs of oranges and a large bunch of bananas (and a box of Nilla Wafers) to Mt. SAC and our athletes ate everything! This weeks schedule will be busy with practices, a Pasta Feed and 2 Invitational meets.  Have a good week, we hope to see you at the Pasta Feed and at the Invitational Meets!

We are new to Internet video posting and are looking for help.  If you are good at that sort of thing please help us to improve our video files.  Contact Dan at dgerlach@yahoo.com to help us out.

Thanks, Your WHS Cross Country Boosters!
