LOGARUN
One of the new things we want you to do and are going to push you to do is keep track of your miles and workouts and “log” them on a FREE website.
Reasons for this are many:
- Keeps you on top of your running
- Allows you to see what you have been doing
- Makes you more responsible for you and your TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Allows for us to see what you are up to when not at practice or during off times or if you have been sick etc…
- The more accountable you are, the better you will be!!!!
- Keep you more CONSISTENT and COMMITTED and doing QUALITY work!!!
- Keep track of your shoes mileage
- Keep track of how you feel on runs…your thought of the run…patterns that can be happening…
- Prevention of illness and injury
What you have to do:
1. Go to website www.logarun.com
2. Sign up for an account…I recommend you use your name just so we coaches can easily see who you are as opposed to some name you use for other things etc…for example…Luke Snyder is fine…not WHSrunner07 or something like it.3. Go to teams…find Westlake High and there should be a link to JOIN…click it and that should be fine…if there are other instructions just follow them….
Once you are there and have the account and can start logging your running…I use the CALENDAR View…what it shows is a calendar for the month, then you click on the day and a more specific…and what will come up on the calendar view will be the mileage etc…
Also, finding your distance to your runs can be done using websites like Google Earth or one I use www.gmap-pedometer.com
You can measure using GPS to the thousandth and see where you ran using satellite views
When do you do this….NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summer Conditioning: Summer training is a relaxed atmosphere and a good opportunity to develop team camaraderie necessary for a successful season. Summer conditioning is MANDATORY! If you were unable to attend our first meeting, please contact Coach Joe Snyder at (805) 497-6711 (ext 5031) for the subsequent practice location after July 9. COMMUNICATION IS VERY IMPORTANT! Summer conditioning will consist of preparation to develop aerobic capacity and an introduction to racing strategy and tactics.
